Kelly Osbourne Reveals She Wore a Wig to 2026 Grammys to Conceal Weight Loss After Ozzys Death
In a September 5 interview with The Mail on Sunday, Kelly Osbourne explained that she wore a wig to the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles to hide a severe weight loss she experienced after her father, Ozzy Osbourne, died in July 2025. The 41‑year‑old television personality and singer said she felt her appearance had become “scary” and that she could not recognize herself.
The 2026 Grammys, held on February 12, honored the late Ozzy Osbourne with a tribute performance. Kelly attended the ceremony with her mother, Sharon Osbourne, her brother Jack Osbourne, and then‑fiancé Sid Wilson. In the weeks following her father’s death, Kelly reported that her body had changed dramatically. She said she could see every bone in her spine and that her cheekbones were “so skinny” that she chose to cover them with a wig.
Kelly described the emotional toll of the loss. She said she was overwhelmed with grief and that she could not recognize what others saw because she was “in so much pain.” She added that the grief left her nauseous whenever she tried to eat and that she no longer registered feelings of hunger. According to the interview, her stylists were aware of her condition and tried to select clothing that would not accentuate her weight loss.
She also spoke about her 3‑year‑old son, Sidney Wilson, whom she shares with ex‑DJ Sid Wilson. Kelly said that when Sidney entered a room, she would “snap into Miss Fun Mum” and avoid showing sorrow in front of him. She explained that she would walk out of a room if she felt she could not keep her emotions in check.
In addition to discussing her appearance and emotional state, Kelly revealed plans for a three‑part television series focused on grief and mental health. She said the series would give viewers insight into her experience after Ozzy’s death and that she would share more of her story. The project is still in development, and no broadcaster has been named.
Kelly’s comments come amid a broader conversation about the physical and mental health challenges that can follow the loss of a close family member. Her openness about weight loss, nausea, and emotional coping mechanisms provides a rare look at how public figures manage personal tragedy while maintaining a public presence.
At present, Kelly has not announced any further public appearances or releases related to the 2026 Grammys beyond the interview. She remains engaged with her family and her planned television project, but no additional details have been released.
