Adam Demos Reflects on Sex/Lifes End and New Film Spa Weekend

Adam Demos, the actor who gave life to Brad in Netflix’s erotic‑drama Sex Life, took the stage at the August 7 premiere of his new comedy Spa Weekend to talk about the series that shaped his career and the fresh project that’s on the horizon.

Sex Life debuted on June 25 2021 and wrapped its run on March 2 2023. The two‑season series was filmed in Toronto during the early COVID‑19 pandemic, a setting that the cast and crew later described as a surprisingly collaborative environment. Created by Stacy Rukeyser and adapted from BB Easton’s novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men, the show was renewed for a second season in September 2021 but was cancelled in April 2023 after the final episode aired.

Demos, born May 24 1985, expressed gratitude for the role that gave him a platform on a global streaming platform. "I love that character," he told reporters. "I love that show, and the fact that I mean, it really took off too. Fans seemed to love it, and I loved it." He added that the series had a clear beginning and end, and he does not anticipate a revival.

When asked about his time in Toronto, Demos smiled. "I have nothing but great memories from my time in Toronto," he said. "It was a chance to stretch myself as an actor, and that show means a lot to me in a lot of ways."

His on‑screen partner, Sarah Shahi, who played Billie, was a familiar face on the set. The two dated for five years before confirming their split in January 2026. Shahi, born January 10 1980, has appeared in The L Word, Fairly Legal, and Person of Interest.

"I’ve long been a fan of all my costars," Demos said during the premiere. "They care so much. They’re always trying to make the scene better, and they don’t phone it in whatsoever." He praised the collaborative atmosphere on set.

Fisher echoed the sentiment in a social‑media post after the table read. "It was so much fun from the moment we did the table read," she wrote. "We all just got along. I’ve known Anna for years, and Leslie and I had made a movie together, and Michelle, I was a fan from afar. But we all just had a natural chemistry, I guess. And we’re all girls, girls. So, there was a lot of support for each other and encouragement, and it was really special."

Spa Weekend will be distributed by Black Bear. Production began in March 2026, with the project entering completed status in late 2026.
