Arjun Rampal Celebrates 25 Years in Bollywood with Tribute to Debut Film and Reflections on Career Milestones

On August 3, 2026, 53‑year‑old actor Arjun Rampal marked the silver jubilee of his entry into Hindi cinema. In a long, heartfelt Instagram post, he retraced his journey from the modest debut that launched him to the high‑gauge blockbusters that have defined his career.

The post began with a simple, almost lyrical reminder: Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat—translated as “Love, Amour and Romance”—had become more than a title; it had become a mantra. Rampal wrote, “25 years ago on this day, I had my first release Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. Little did I know then, how relevant this title will become in my life…” He thanked directors, co‑stars, producers and, most importantly, the fans who had carried him through the highs and lows.

The 2001 film, released under the Trimurti Films banner, was a commercial failure, yet it gave Rampal his first leading role alongside Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani and Keerthi Reddy. Rather than deterring him, the setback laid the groundwork for a career that would span more than 40 films across a wide spectrum of genres. A year later, Aankhen proved a turning point: a commercial success that earned him a Filmfare nomination for Best Male Debut. Subsequent hits—Don (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007), Housefull (2010), Raajneeti (2010) and the superhero blockbuster Ra.One (2011)—cemented his status as a versatile actor. His portrayal of the antagonist in Ra.One earned a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, while a supporting role in Rock On!! (2008) won him a Filmfare Award.

Rampal’s tribute was also a catalog of gratitude. He named directors Rajiv Rai, Ashok Mehta and Shantanu Sheory; celebrated co‑stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and others; and acknowledged producers such as Vashu Bagnani and Ramesh Taurani. He highlighted the influence of director Farah Khanna, who helped him navigate larger‑than‑life characters, and paid homage to his brother Farooq Khatri, a constant source of encouragement.

While the post was steeped in nostalgia, Rampal also looked forward. He is currently focused on the Dhurandhar franchise, whose first installment premiered on December 5, 2025. Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy‑action thriller featured an ensemble cast that included Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan, with Rampal portraying undercover agent Major Iqbal. The film crossed ₹1,000 crore worldwide in three weeks, ranking as the second‑highest‑grossing Indian film of 2025. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released on March 19, 2026, pushed the series’ worldwide gross to over ₹1,800 crore, solidifying it as the second‑highest‑grossing Indian franchise.

In his message, Rampal made it clear that none of these achievements would have mattered without the support of his fans. “Most importantly all of you my fans, who stuck it out. I am nothing without all of you…” he wrote, extending thanks to production houses Jio Studios and B62 Studios that backed the Dhurandhar films.

Arjun Rampal’s 25‑year milestone underscores a career that has evolved from a modest debut to a series of commercially successful and critically acclaimed roles. His public tribute reflects a deep appreciation for the people who have contributed to his growth, while his recent work in the Dhurandhar franchise demonstrates his continued relevance in contemporary Bollywood. The actor’s journey exemplifies the resilience required in the Indian film industry, and his acknowledgement of collaborators and fans highlights the collaborative nature of cinema. As the Dhurandhar series continues to perform at the box office, Rampal remains a prominent figure in Hindi cinema, bridging the early 2000s era with the current wave of high‑budget, globally‑oriented productions.
