Cara Delevingne Confirms Romantic Relationship with Amber Heard, Addresses Johnny Depp Accusations

In a candid interview on the June 29, 2026 episode of the Louis Theroux Podcast, model‑actress Cara Delevingne confirmed that her bond with actress Amber Heard was romantic, not platonic, and clarified why Johnny Depp’s accusations were unfounded. Delevingne said the two women were "entangled" while Heard was undergoing her divorce from Depp, a fact that Depp had reportedly used to support his claim that Delevingne had an affair with his then‑wife.

According to Delevingne, Depp’s belief that she and Heard were involved stemmed from their collaboration on the 2018 film London Fields. She explained that the two filmed the movie in 2013, a detail she claims is based on her memory and has not been independently verified. During that shoot, Depp had a brief cameo, and Heard played a leading role. Delevingne insisted that nothing was happening between her and Heard at the time, and that Depp was "pretty driven crazy by jealousy."

Heard and Depp’s relationship began in 2011, culminated in a 2014 wedding, and ended in a 2017 divorce after a 15‑month marriage. The divorce was finalized in 2018. After the divorce, Delevingne said that she and Heard "were close for a long time" and that their romantic relationship began later, once Heard was no longer married to Depp. She also noted that Heard was seeing other people during that period, including Elon Musk, with whom Heard dated on and off from 2016 to 2018.

In the same interview, Delevingne discussed her own sexuality. She identified as a lesbian after coming out as pansexual in 2020, and said she had known she was gay from age 11. Delevingne revealed that early in her career she felt pressured to conceal her sexuality in order to secure roles. She recalled a comment from former film producer Harvey Weinstein, who told her, "You should never be in a relationship with a woman. You’ll never make it in the industry if people think you’re gay."

Delevingne’s career has spanned modeling, acting, and music. She has appeared in films such as Paper Towns, Suicide Squad, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and starred in Jordan Firstman’s Club Kid. Despite her success, she said the industry’s expectations about sexuality had influenced her personal choices.

The London Fields film, released in 2018, features a cameo by Depp and a leading role by Heard. Delevingne’s claim that the film was shot in 2013 is based on her own recollection and has not been independently verified. Her statements clarify the nature of her relationship with Heard and contextualize the accusations made by Depp.

No further legal or public actions have been announced by either party. The current status is that Delevingne has publicly confirmed her romantic involvement with Heard, and no additional developments have been reported.
