Moonlight Pale Expands Beyond PC: Console Ports and Physical Editions Announced After Kickstarter Success

When the moonlight spills across the crumbling courtyard of St. Birgitta’s, a quiet dread takes root. The hand‑drawn 2‑D survival horror that started as a modest PC title is now poised to haunt consoles and living rooms alike.

Blue Lily’s Kickstarter, which closes on July 4 2026 at 5:57 PM ET, has already crossed the $65,000 mark—more than four times its original $15,566 goal. The surge unlocked a stretch‑goal that commits the studio to digital releases on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series S/X. It also opened the door to physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Switch, giving backers tangible keepsakes.

Backers can now choose from several new pledge tiers that let them tailor their orders for the additional platforms. The standard physical edition comes with the game, a manual, and an exclusive photograph, while the premium “Super Eclipse” edition adds a mini art book, magnetic keychain, enamel pin, acrylic diorama, and a special box.

Moonlight Pale’s story unfolds in a late‑1800s female seminary called St. Birgitta’s. Players assume the role of Juliette, a student who follows the ghost of her deceased cat into an abandoned building hidden in the seminary’s gardens. The game is a full‑voice, frame‑by‑frame animated experience, scored by horror composer Arai Tasuku. Narrative influences include Silent Hill f, Signalis, Rule of Rose, and several horror RPG Maker titles.

Development kicked off in December 2025. Blue Lily—a duo of Ao Clover (illustrator, colorist, animator) and Cachi Cordova (programmer, designer)—reports that core systems are complete, the full script is written, and dialogue for chapters 1 and 2 has been recorded. The team keeps backers updated on progress via the Kickstarter page and social media.

The move to consoles mirrors a trend among indie developers who leverage strong backer support to broaden their reach. Signalis, for example, launched on PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in 2022, and Dredge, a 2023 survival‑horror title, later added a Switch port.

Moonlight Pale is slated for release between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. The stretch goals guarantee availability on the new platforms within that window, though exact launch dates for each console remain unannounced.

The project’s rapid growth on Kickstarter underscores the persistent appetite for atmospheric, hand‑crafted horror experiences among indie gamers. By expanding to consoles and offering physical editions, Blue Lily is positioning Moonlight Pale to reach a broader audience while rewarding its backers with tangible memorabilia.

The campaign remains open until July 4 2026. Backers who wish to add console or physical edition tiers can do so by revisiting the Kickstarter page before the deadline. No publisher or distribution partner has yet been announced for the console releases.

In short, Moonlight Pale’s Kickstarter success has unlocked digital ports for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, and introduced physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Switch. The game will launch between late 2026 and early 2027, with further details expected as the development team finalizes platform‑specific builds.
