Anne Curtis Celebrates 29 Years in Showbiz, Thanks Fans, and Announces New Projects

Anne Curtis marked the 29th anniversary of her entry into the entertainment industry on June 18, 2026, during a media conference organized by Viva Artist Agency. The 41‑year‑old actress, who began her career at age 12 with the film Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis, used the event to thank her fans and to preview several projects that will keep her on screen for the coming years.

Curtis’s career has spanned more than two decades of film, television and music. She has worked consistently for Viva, the company headed by Vic del Rosario, Jr., since her debut. In a segment of the conference, she recalled her late father’s advice to the director, who told her, “You’re kind.” The comment, reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, illustrates the supportive relationship that has helped sustain her long‑running career.

The actress also discussed her final taping of the Netflix action series BuyBust: The Undesirables, which concluded in early June. According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Curtis said the series was a “challenging but rewarding experience” and that she was grateful for the opportunity to work with the production team. The show, which follows a group of Filipino police officers, was one of the network’s most‑watched original series in 2025.

Looking ahead, Curtis confirmed that she will shift from action to a psychological thriller directed by Mikhail Red. The project, titled Remote, is slated to begin production later this year and will be produced by Evolve Studios and Viva Films. The film will explore paranoia in contemporary Manila and will feature Curtis in the lead role. In addition, she will star in a reunion film with actor Ruel Bayani, a project that has been in development since 2024. A third potential collaboration involves director Irene Villamor, although details remain unconfirmed.

Curtis’s work has earned her recognition beyond the Philippines. She was named a nominee for the 2026 Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) in South Korea, a nomination that was announced on her X (formerly Twitter) account. The award ceremony, which attracts global talent, highlighted her performance in the Netflix series as a standout in the drama category.

The actress’s achievements also include two FAMAS Awards, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, a Luna Award and four Box Office Entertainment Awards. She has been a UNICEF Celebrity Advocate for Children since 2015 and was appointed national ambassador in 2019. Her filmography, which has earned approximately ₱1.87 billion at the box office, places her among the highest‑grossing Filipino stars.

Curtis’s 29‑year celebration was met with positive comments from fans on social media, though the event itself was focused on her gratitude and future plans. The media conference ended with a statement that she remains committed to delivering quality performances across film and television.

As her next projects move into production, industry observers note that Curtis’s transition from action to thriller and her continued involvement with high‑profile Filipino productions signal a sustained presence in the regional entertainment market. The upcoming releases are expected to broaden her international reach and reinforce her status as a leading figure in Philippine cinema.

The current status of her projects is that BuyBust: The Undesirables has finished filming, Remote is in pre‑production, and the reunion film with Ruel Bayani is in the final stages of scripting. No release dates have been announced yet, but the projects are slated for 2027 releases according to preliminary schedules reported by the production companies.
