Universa Debuts as New DLC Fighter in Invincible VS, Launches June 30

When the heat of the Invincible arena turns into a new weapon, a character from the comic’s shadows steps onto the battlefield. On June 30 2026, Quarter Up and Skybound Games will add Universa—a minor antagonist who first appeared in Season 4 of the Amazon Prime Video animated adaptation—to the roster of the 3‑v‑3 tag‑fighting game Invincible VS.

Universa will be available as a standalone download and as part of the Year 1 Character Pass, which bundles all four DLC fighters the studio has announced. Players who purchase the Deluxe or Collector’s editions receive the new characters automatically. The character’s debut can also be tested in person at Evo 2026, the premier fighting‑game event, where a dedicated booth will showcase her move set from June 26 to 28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Invincible VS launched on April 30 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows. The title, based on the Image Comics series and featuring the original voice cast, shipped with 18 base fighters. Quarter Up revealed that four additional characters will be released as downloadable content, bundled in the Year 1 Character Pass and sold individually.

Universa’s backstory fits neatly into the series’ lore. A minor antagonist introduced in the fourth season of the animated show, she wields the Staff of Leadership, a weapon that absorbs and redirects energy. Her move set is described as balanced and technical, with a Boost Meter that amplifies her specials as it fills. She can siphon Boost from opponents, weakening them while increasing her own power, a mechanic that rewards careful resource management in team battles.

The Year 1 Character Pass, available on all platforms, will include Universa and Immortal, the two first DLC fighters. According to the official Invincible VS website, the pass grants access to all four announced DLC characters. Players who buy the Deluxe or Collector’s editions receive the characters automatically.

Evo 2026 will host a dedicated booth for Invincible VS, where attendees can try Universa before her official release. Quarter Up and Skybound Games announced the preview opportunity on their social media channels, noting that hands‑on sessions will allow players to experience Universa’s unique combos and boosted specials.

Adding Universa expands the tactical depth of Invincible VS. Her ability to drain Boost and unleash powerful specials aligns with the game’s emphasis on team coordination and resource management. The character’s design also ties into the broader Invincible narrative, where her mission to harvest Earth’s energy resources reflects the series’ themes of power and responsibility.

As of now, Universa will be released on June 30 2026. She will be available for purchase as a standalone DLC and through the Year 1 Character Pass. Players who attend Evo 2026 can try her in the booth, and the character will be playable in Training Mode before purchase.

The release of Universa marks the first step in Invincible VS’s DLC roadmap, which will see additional fighters added throughout 2026. The game’s developers have stated that future DLC will continue to broaden the roster and introduce new mechanics.

In summary, Universa’s June 30 launch adds a new strategic fighter to Invincible VS, offering players a fresh playstyle and new team combinations. The character will be available both as a standalone download and as part of the Year 1 Character Pass, and can be tested at Evo 2026 in Las Vegas.
