Seven Seas Entertainment Unveils July Audiobook Releases and December Box Set for Popular Series

Seven Seas Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it will release two new audiobooks on July 16 and a complete box set of the popular manga series Skip and Loafer in December 2026.

The July releases are the first volumes of two light‑novel audiobooks published through Seven Seas’ Siren imprint, which focuses on English‑language audiobook adaptations of Japanese titles. The first audiobook, Fluffy Café in Another World, is written by Punichan and illustrated by Tobi. The story follows Taichi Arima, an office worker who is transported to a world of beasts after an encounter with a white cat. In the new world he discovers a talent for taming animals and opens a café where people can interact with his furry companions. The second audiobook, Reborn as an Assassin’s Apprentice, is written by okiuta and sinsora. It follows a protagonist who is reborn as an apprentice in the Order of Assassins and must survive rigorous training that can be lethal.

Both audiobooks are volume 1 releases under the Siren imprint and are scheduled for a July 16 launch. Seven Seas has not yet announced narrators for the titles.

In addition to the audiobooks, Seven Seas will issue a five‑volume box set of Skip and Loafer, a romantic‑comedy manga written and illustrated by Misaki Takamatsu. The set will include volumes 1–5 and will be released in December 2026. The box set is priced at $74.99 in the United States and $102.99 in Canada and will feature five art cards. Skip and Loafer has already been licensed by Seven Seas for English release and has won the 47th Kodansha Manga Award in the general category. The manga’s anime adaptation, produced by P.A. Works, aired in 2023.

Seven Seas Entertainment, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, has a long history of licensing and publishing Japanese manga and light novels for English‑speaking audiences. The company began as a publisher of original English‑language manga but has since expanded to include licensed titles from Japan. The Siren imprint, launched in 2026, is part of the publisher’s strategy to broaden its offerings into the audiobook market.

The Fluffy Café in Another World light novel series was first licensed by Seven Seas in 2025 and has already released several print volumes. The manga adaptation of the series was also licensed and released in English in 2026. The Reborn as an Assassin’s Apprentice light novel series had been available in Japanese prior to the audiobook release.

The announcement highlights Seven Seas’ continued focus on diverse formats and genres. By adding audiobooks to its catalog, the publisher is tapping into the growing demand for audio content among readers who prefer listening to books. The Skip and Loafer box set caters to collectors and fans of the manga’s anime adaptation.

The releases are part of a broader trend in the entertainment industry where publishers are expanding into multiple media formats to reach wider audiences. Seven Seas’ recent slate includes other light‑novel audiobooks and manga releases, demonstrating the company’s commitment to providing varied content across platforms.

As of the announcement, the audiobooks and box set are scheduled for release on the stated dates. No further details on distribution channels or additional volumes have been disclosed.

The upcoming releases underscore Seven Seas Entertainment’s role as a key distributor of Japanese manga and light novels in the English market, and they reflect the publisher’s ongoing efforts to diversify its product offerings.
