Hulu Unveils July Slate of English-Dubbed Anime, Including Inept Villainess, Yozakura Family Season 2 and Undead Unluck Winter Arc
Hulu’s July schedule is a clear statement of intent for anime fans worldwide: three English‑dubbed titles will hit the platform in the month, each with a distinct fan base and production pedigree.
The first is Though I Am an Inept Villainess, the television adaptation of Satsuki Nakamura’s light‑novel series. Produced by Doga Kobo, the anime will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on Sunday, July 12 at 23:45 JST. The series, which began as a web novel in 2020 and was later published by Ichijinsha, was originally slated for an April 2026 premiere but was delayed by production setbacks. Hulu will stream the full series in both subtitled and English‑dubbed versions, while Crunchyroll will provide the same content to audiences across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian Subcontinent.
Next, Mission: Yozakura Family returns for a second season. The first run, which aired in Japan from April to October 2024 on MBS, TBS, and 26 affiliate stations, was based on Hitsuji Gondaira’s manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2019 to 2025. The new season premiered on April 12, 2026, and Hulu will stream it with an English dub. In the United States, Disney+ offers the series through its Hulu service, and the show is also available on Prime Video and Netflix in Japan.
The third addition is Undead Unluck: Winter Arc, a one‑hour special produced by TMS Entertainment. The franchise began as a manga by Yoshifumi Tozuka and was adapted into a television series that aired from October 2023 to March 2024. The special premiered in Japan on December 25, 2025, and TMS Entertainment USA announced that the English dub will be available on Hulu on July 2, 2026. The special also announced a second season for the main television series.
Hulu’s July slate reflects the platform’s strategy to broaden its anime library with high‑profile, English‑dubbed content. By offering dubs for titles that have already proven popular in Japan, Hulu aims to attract a wider international audience and keep pace with competitors that have invested heavily in anime. The partnership with Disney+ in the United States further strengthens Hulu’s position in that market, while the availability of the same titles on Crunchyroll and other regional platforms ensures global accessibility.
For viewers, the July releases mean that the full Though I Am an Inept Villainess series, the new Mission: Yozakura Family season, and the Undead Unluck special will all be accessible on Hulu with English dubs. Fans of the original manga and light‑novel series can now follow the adaptations in their native language, while international audiences can enjoy the shows without subtitles.
At this time, Hulu has not announced additional releases beyond the three dubs listed for July. The platform’s schedule for the remainder of the year remains to be detailed.
