Disney+ Announces Final Season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder and New Holiday Special
Disney+ has announced that the beloved animated series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will wrap up with a fourth season that premieres on Wednesday, July 29 2026. The decision follows the June 2025 renewal for a final season. Created by Bruce W. Smith and executive‑produced by Ralph Farquhar, the show will end its run after four seasons that have aired exclusively on Disney+.
In addition to the finale, Disney+ will deliver a stop‑motion holiday special, A Proud Family Wizmas, later in 2026. Produced by Disney Television Animation under the Disney Kids & Family umbrella and in partnership with Portland‑based HouseSpecial, the special will feature the series’ core voice cast—Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, Cedric The Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez, Carlos Mencia as Felix Boulevardez, Alvaro Gutierrez as Papi, Raquel Lee Bolleau as Nubia Gross, Marcus T. Paulk as Myron and Melissa De Sousa as Sunset Boulevardez. New guest voices for season 4 include Mariah Carey, Romany Malco, Chloe Bailey, Lorraine Tousaint, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, Kym Whitley, Dee Nasty, Adele Givens, Ali Wong, JB Smoove and Lashana Lynch, while recurring guests Anthony Anderson (Ray Ray) and Tiffany Haddish (Ms. Hill) return.
Season 4 will follow the Proud family as they confront a series of unexpected adventures that test Penny’s courage and identity. Described as action‑packed and emotionally driven, the episodes promise to see the family face new challenges together.
The series has earned critical acclaim, winning a NAMIC Award, multiple NAACP Image Awards—including Outstanding Animated Series—and a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series. It has also received nominations for GLAAD Media Awards and Annie Awards. All episodes from the first three seasons, as well as the original 2001‑2005 series, are available on Disney+.
Smith and Farquhar have renewed their overall deal with Disney Television Animation for another year under their production banner BaR Productions, allowing them to continue writing, developing and producing series for Disney Entertainment Television.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a revival of the original 2001‑2005 series The Proud Family, which premiered on Disney Channel on September 15 2001 and concluded on August 19 2005. The revival debuted on Disney+ on February 23 2022, released three seasons, with the third season debuting on August 6 2025. The fourth season’s July 29 premiere marks the end of the franchise’s run on Disney+.
Kurt Farquhar will return as songwriter and composer for the holiday special, contributing six new original songs. The collaboration with HouseSpecial will bring the franchise into a new stop‑motion format.
With the final season and holiday special confirmed, Disney+ will continue to offer the full catalog of The Proud Family content to subscribers while expanding the franchise into a fresh medium. The next milestones are the July 29 premiere of season 4 and the release of A Proud Family Wizmas later in 2026, both available on Disney+.
