Star Trek: Warp Demo Launches on Steam, Offers Six Pre-Built Battles

For Star Trek fans and card‑game enthusiasts alike, a new portal to the final frontier has opened— the official Star Trek: Warp demo is now live on Steam. Released on June 17 by Monumental LLC, the free download lets players taste the franchise’s 60‑year legacy in a digital collectible card format before the full 2026 launch. The demo is part of Steam NextFest and will remain available for one week, expiring on June 23.

Monumental LLC, the independent studio behind the title, published the demo through the Steam client for Windows and macOS. Like most NextFest demos, its brief window is designed to showcase new games to the community without a long‑term commitment. Players can download the demo at no cost, and the one‑week availability encourages quick feedback from the Steam audience.

Star Trek: Warp is a digital collectible card game that expands on the iconic franchise’s lore. Players build decks around beloved characters, starships, and locations such as Ten‑Forward and the Warp Core. The game introduces a seven‑lane battlefield, where positioning determines attack and defense, and a core mechanic called Warp that scales card draws as a match progresses. Warp gives players the chance to turn the tide when they are behind, adding a strategic layer to deck construction.

The demo focuses on six pre‑built decks, each tied to a different ship. A tutorial deck featuring the USS Enterprise gives new players a gentle introduction, after which they can engage in six replayable battles:

1. USS Enterprise – Deploy Starfleet officers to heal, buff, and cycle allies. Warp cards include Yellow Alert, Phaser Barrage, and Corbomite Maneuver. 2. Sh’raan – The deck features Vulcan, Romulan, and Starfleet characters. Warp cards are Vector Analysis, Convergence Point, and Particle Beam Sweep. 3. I.K.S. Bortas – A Klingon‑centric deck that relies on raw strength. Warp cards are Photon Torpedo, Activate Cloak, and Disruptor Cannon. 4. Prakesh – This deck mixes Cardassian gambits with healing support. Warp cards include Selective Elimination, System Sabotage, and Bajoran Wormhole. 5. Enterprise NX‑01 – A deck that uses technology to disrupt opponents. Warp cards are Grappling Hook, Polarized Hull Plating, and Reed Alert. 6. Borg Cube – A deck that assimilates and buffs allies. Warp cards are Add To The Collective, Maturation Chamber, and Queencell.

Each battle lets players experiment with lane‑based combat and the Warp mechanic without needing to build a deck from scratch. The demo also demonstrates how starships influence deck construction—a feature highlighted by Monumental in its announcement.

Beyond the demo, Monumental has scheduled a full release for Star Trek: Warp on Steam in 2026. The game will be free‑to‑play on Windows and macOS, with a monetization model that includes card packs and cosmetic items. The studio has not yet announced a specific launch date.

The demo is one of two Star Trek titles available during Steam NextFest. The other, Star Trek: Outposts Unknown, is a builder‑sim game that also offers a free demo on Steam. Both demos are slated to be removed by June 23.

In summary, the Star Trek: Warp demo provides a concise introduction to the game’s core systems, including its lane‑based battlefield, Warp mechanic, and ship‑specific decks. The free, one‑week availability gives fans a chance to test the gameplay before the full title’s 2026 release.
